24th Annual MBV Wheelchair Rock Cod Derby Oct 4, 2014

Monterey Bay Veterans, Inc is pleased to announce its 24th annual Wheelchair Rock Cod Fishing Derby will be held October 4, 2014!

Organized by the Sports Rehab Center division of Monterey Bay Veterans, Inc., the Derby brings disabled veterans out of2014 Rock Cod Derby homes and hospitals for a day of fishing for fun and prizes. Registration is now open for participants, volunteers, and boat captains.

A pre-registration dinner will be held for anglers and volunteers Friday, October 3 from 5 to 7 PM. Bright and early the next morning, anglers will begin loading at 6 AM on Saturday, October 4, at Breakwater Cove Marina in Monterey. Upon return, anglers and volunteers will enjoy a banquet dinner at 2 PM and an awards ceremony at 3 PM.

Veterans and all physically challenged members of the community are invited to participate in this free event. Applications are required prior to the event for fishing. Applications for boat owners able to support the event are also available. Participation is limited to available space on the boats.
